How Covid-19 affects the blood takes a huge role as to what makes this illness deadly.
There is mounting concern that Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) thickens the blood and leads to the formation of blood clots. This in turn, can have delirius effect as clots can form thrombosis in which it blocks blood supply to organs.
Study reveals that Covid-19 is linked to hypercoagulopathy.
The medical community is seeing cases in which abnormal blood clotting brought about by Covid-19 has led to stroke, heart attack, and surgical removal of blood deprived body parts.
It is quite alarming that there are cases in which Covid-19 patients developed blood coagulation despite the fact that they are already in blood thinners.
This hypercoagulation is believed to be brought about by the body’s immune response as it defends the body against the disease.
