Gout has been known to us since the ancient times. The discovery of this disease dates back to the ancient Egyptians in 2640 BC where they gave this disease the name ''Podagra" which translates to Foot Pain. It's an accurate description considering Gout, in most cases, affects the Big Toe.
But it's important to know that Gout isn't just restricted to the toe. It can affect any joint in the body.
Gouty Arthritis is a serious affliction that it can dramatically decrease the quality of life of those people suffering from this condition. The extreme pain caused by Gout is such a heavy burden that Hippocrates during the 5th century gave this disease the title ''Unwalkable Disease."
The pain caused by Gout is debilitating enough to hinder mobility. You'll imagine the extent of pain and discomfort this causes it's sufferers.
With the lifestyle and habits of the modern humans, it's no surprising Gout is increasing in prevalence.
