What your shoe preference reveal about your personality?
@healthbiztips by Arlene Gentallan | Psychology blog
Speculating someone's persona based solely on the pair of shoes they are wearing may seem a skeptical and fallible tool for correlation, and a direct contradiction to the old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover."
Though, there is an actual scientific study conducted in the University of Kansas that supports the association of personality and shoe preference. So, let's hear it.
- Broad-minded people have an inclination for worn out and inexpensive shoes.
- Agreeable people pick shoes that are practical and functional.
- Extroverts gravitate to colorful attention catching footwear.
- Scrupulous people tend to use old shoes in pristine condition.
- Calm people have an inclination for uncomfortable looking shoes.
- Aggressive personality types gravitate to ankle boots.
- Individuals with attachment anxiety go for new well maintained shoes.
- Unsociable people have a tendency to wear unattractive shoes.
However, do mind that the link between one's favorite footwear and personality is not absolute. Take for instance the case of an employee who have to abide by a strict dress code to be able to portray professionalism at work.
