Since ginger is a renowned superfood with tons of health benefits, doesn't it follow that one can reap these same advantages from ginger ale. After all, ginger ale is supposed to have real ginger with lots of sugar mixed in a carbonated water.
However, not many people know that there are marketed ginger ale that doesn't contain real ginger despite their marketed claims. It's one of those lies manufacturers tell their buyers to boosts sales. So, in this regard, you're only pumping artificially flavored liquid sugar with no health benefits. It's a beverage with empty calories.
For those trusted brand of ginger ale that does contain real ginger, there's a substantial number of people who attests that drinking so have several health benefits like relief from nausea, bloating, and motion sickness. Understandably, those are amongst ginger's myriad health benefits which one can certainly reap from a drink that contains real ginger.
Now, another question arise? Is the sugar content of ginger ale worth it's health benefits? For a start, it isn't uncommon for a typical ginger ale available in convenience stores and groceries to have tons of sugar added to improve flavor. If that is the case, then it is not a recommended drink to certain people, particularly those who have diabetes.
What's more, since ginger ale is technically a ginger fizzy drink or soft drink, then, regular consumption can mess up with a person's sugar level and create potential health risk in the long run, like an increased predisposition to develop diabetes mellitus.
So, after all these have been said and done? Does ginger ale with real ginger in it have health benefits? Of course, it does! What's even better is to try out making homemade ginger ale as one can control the amount of sugar incorporated into the drink.
On the other hand, is the added sugar worth it? You can put it this way, a fizzy drink with a lot of added sugar is synonymous with soda or soft drink, which you know it not something that should be a regular part of your diet if you want to be or stay healthy. Remember, anything taken in excess is bad. Excess calories can in turn lead to obesity and metabolic problems.
