Make-up and skincare during teenage years is kind of norm to the less conservative generations, but there are some concerns with regard to their safety in such a young age group.
For a start, it's not really uncommon for teenagers to try out a wide range of skin products, mainly due to issues with acne and pimples. Furthermore, it's common for girls to be conscious about their physical appearance which makes make-up all the more appealing.
Although, it is alarming that teenagers using cosmetics exposes themselves to chemicals found out to be hormone disruptors like parabens which are even traceable in their urine. There are concerns that the presence of these chemicals in a teenage body can in turn possibly lead to health issues like an increased predisposition to cancer and reproductive abnormalities.
However, whether or not these toxic ingredients in cosmetics does have serious health risk is still yet to be proven and quantified.
Knowing that there is potential health concerns connected to teenage use of cosmetics, it is best to avoid personal care products that contains potentially harmful preservatives and instead switch to milder all-natural personal care products.
