        Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, which means the body does not store it so we have to consume it everyday. Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant that helps fight damaging free radicals. It serves an important function wound healing and collagen formation. Vitamin C is integral to keep our teeth, bones, tendon, ligaments, cartilage, and other tissues strong.

What is the recommended daily intake of vitamin C?

According to The National Institutes of Health, recommended vitamin C intake are as follows:

  • Adult Men                         90 mg
  • Adult Women                 75 mg
  • Pregnant teens                  80 mg
  • Pregnant women             85 mg
  • Breastfeeding teens     115 mg
  • Breastfeeding women     120 mg
