In pursuit of beauty, we put tons of cosmetic products on our face, trying one product after another in search of what works best for our skin. How about a pillow case?

Before we look at what makes silk pillow case awesome, let's first look into the downfall of the typical cotton pillowcase.

Night time is an important hour for skin rejuvenation since most of skin repair and cell turnover happens while we are sleeping. When you're face is pressed against a cotton or polyester pillow case, it sucks up the moisture off your face causing drying and creasing.

If you're accustomed to sleeping with your face directly pressing on your pillow, you may have noticed waking up with visible wrinkling and creasing on your face. Do this overtime and when you see those creases becoming more pronounced, you're in for some serious change.

Silk: anti-aging contender

So in exchange for the typical cotton and polyester pillow case, anti-aging pillowcase is made of silk. Silk is soft and smooth creating less friction against your face and hair, gentle on the skin, and doesn't draw away moisture from your face and hair. It prevents creasing on face and frizzy hair.

The downside of silk pillowcase is it's price. You know, when you have a lot of stuffs you need and your pillowcase costs more. But some argue that, while silk pillow case doesn't come cheap, it can last for a long time.

Is it really worth it?

There are testimonies about silk pillowcase' anti-aging benefits, but there are also those who claim that it doesn't seem to make a difference. The question of whether silk pillowcase actually works or not is yet to be put under the hands of researchers.

Copper pillowcase: the proven anti-aging

Copper pillowcase is made from copper oxide fibers. There was a study that reveals copper pillowcase can reduce fine line and wrinkles in as early as 4 weeks. The science behind this is when copper comes into contact with your face, copper ion is transferred into the upper layer of your skin ,called the epidermis, in which it helps in the formation of new skin cells.

If copper sounds like a metal, it's because it is. Traces of copper is naturally found in our skin, but as we age, it diminishes. Copper aids in the production of collagen. Copper is also essential to your brain, immune system, bones, and blood.
